Interview
Can you name the 10 original riders that were on United?
Oh boy, off the top of my head I’m gonna go for: Ian Morris (of course) Dean Hearne, Ricky Feather, Kye Forte, Corey Martinez, Caleb Kilby, Ryan Metro, Robin Fenlon & I’m all out of luck from here on out.. Larry Foot?
Who appeared in our first ever print ad?
I think Caleb Kilby with the seats? Maybe not though.
When did you first hear about/notice United?
I would say straight away, or at least when it was made public that Ian was starting it. I was/am a big Ride UK magazine fan and it was in there. I owned a Federal Division & was into Federal.
What year did you start riding?
I always go off when I bought my first BMX magazine, which was the December 98 issue of BMX Plus.. I’ve ridden nothing but a 20″ BMX since I was 6 but I guess buying a BMX magazine was the tipping point.
What first got you into riding?
When my Dad bought that old Kuwahara off a guy for thirty bucks when I was 6.. since then I can’t say I’ve done anything except try to emulate what older kids around me did on their bikes.
